The Multi-Mission Elements (MME) are a set of software, facilities, tools, IT infrastructure covering Data Archive & Retrieval, Distribution functions as well as Ground Systems Monitoring and Infrastructure & IT functions. These functions support all current EUMETSAT operational satellite ground systems and are upgraded to support also the new programmes under development.

VN 17/48 - Climate Product Expert (Level 2 Data)

EUMETSAT support the development of Climate Services by meteorological and hydrological agencies of EUMETSAT Member States and the Copernicus Climate Change Service through the rescue, re-calibration and re-processing of long series of satellite observations and the delivery and validation of the resulting climate data records. This involves activities across EUMETSAT headquarters and its network of Satellite Applications Facilities as well as cooperation with other satellite operators. Within the Climate Services Team of the User Support and Climate Services Division (USC), the Climate Product Engineer will lead specific scientific developments for the generation and validation of climate data records, focusing on processing from Level 1 (physical) to Level 2 (geophysical) products, including relevant EUMETSAT’s contributions to cooperative European research projects and to the Copernicus Climate Change Service.

Within the Additional Data Services Team of the Real-Time Services and System Operations (RSO) Division, the SAF Operational Coordination Engineer coordinates operations and related interfaces with the SAFs and supports the monitoring and evolution of their products and services.

VN 17/52 - Data Services Operations Engineer

As part of its operations, EUMETSAT performs acquisition and processing and dissemination of data originating from partners and service providers and makes outputs available to its users as Additional Data Services. Additional Data Services are supported by specific ground systems including communications links, data processing systems and a network of X/L-Band stations used to acquire and process data broadcast by EUMETSAT’s and third party polar orbiting satellites to support multi-mission regional data services known as EARS. Within the Additional Data Services Team of the Real-Time Services and System Operations (RSO) Division, the Data Services Operations Engineer coordinates and conducts operations of Additional Data Services and EARS multi-mission regional data services and supports the evolution of specific supporting systems.

As part of its operations, EUMETSAT disseminates in real time to its users products extracted from data of the satellites it exploits in orbit (Meteosat, Metop, Jason, Sentinel-3) and products acquired from third party missions. For this purpose, EUMETSAT exploits and maintains a Multi-Mission Data Dissemination System feeding a variety of dissemination channels (terrestrial and satellite-based) and implementing different technologies. Within the Dissemination Operations Team of the Real-Time Services and System Operations (RSO) Division, the Dissemination Operations Engineer coordinates and conducts the operations of data dissemination services and supports the evolution of the data dissemination systems.
